Most of the sales in South West over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £489,925. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £274,864 and semi-detached properties averaged at £306,428.
South West, with an overall average price of £344,294 was more expensive than nearby West Midlands (£276,030), but was cheaper than South East (£462,709) and London (£673,238). The most expensive area within South West was Dorset (£390,001) and the cheapest was Devon (£313,754).
In the past year house prices in South West were 6% up on the year before and 17% up on 2019 when they averaged at £294,625.
