Last year most property sales in North East involved terraced properties which sold for on average £138,751. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £169,696, while detached properties fetched £399,885.
North East, with an overall average price of £203,830 was cheaper than nearby North West (£234,807), Yorkshire and the Humber (£228,058) and East Midlands (£251,127). The priciest area within North East was Northumberland (£235,709) and the least expensive was County Durham (£160,475).
During the last year, sold prices in North East were 15% up on the previous year and 20% up on 2019 when the average house price was £169,774.
